Therapy in Nature

Outdoor therapy is a well-established practice and can work in several ways – simply walking and talking; observing and utilising the natural environment for support; focusing attention on decision-making and what supports or interrupts this process; meditative practice. Sometimes the whole session can consist of walking and at other times it may be a mixture of walking, standing, sitting etc.

Outdoor therapy suits some people more than others but can be a useful alternative to traditional indoor or online sessions – however, it still follows the same parameters around confidentiality and time boundaries.

Gestalt Walk and Talk Therapy blends traditional Gestalt psychotherapy with the restorative power of nature and physical movement. Instead of sitting in a room, we walk outdoors—creating space for awareness, grounded presence, and authentic connection.
