Workshops for children and families at Llanover Hall and Wales Millennium Centre this summer.
Participants learnt how to fold a little book in which to write and illustrate a story. Some children came with ideas for their story: a brother and sister brought along their favourite toys to be the protagonists, and one girl knew she wanted to write a magical story about a boy raised by wolves inspired by the Harry Potter books.
Others used the “count down from ten and write the first three words that come into your mind”, exercise to generate ideas. The challenge was to use the three words in their story.
The children learnt how to print leaves to embellish their stories, and used a combination of stamps, paint and collage materials.
These are all so charming!
