Despite the rain, many visitors came to Cardiff Bay today to celebrate the work of the Breathing Space creative wellbeing groups.
Over the past few months the groups that meet weekly in Bryngarw, Pontypridd, Porthcawl and Bridgend have had a visiting artist to inspire participants to try a new art form.
The group Caroline and I facilitate in Pontypridd chose to have a filmmaker come in and capture the essence of the group. Aled Wyn Thomas brought together hours of footage of members working on paintings, a collaborative tapestry of found items, wearing costumes as they paraded through Pontypridd and performed rituals around the town well. He set it to a collaborative poem ‘Love Song to the Earth’ that Caroline read over Ben’s piano composition. Link to the film on Tanio Facebook page here.
