One participant of the Friday Creative Wellbeing group is a wonderful surrealist poet in the style of Gisèle Prassinos.
From one of her poems, ‘Reasoning Remains a Wealth‘, everyone has chosen a line that resonates with them, and created their own print or artwork, taking inspiration from the words of the poem.
We are always discovering materials, long-abandoned by other groups in the community art room, and some sticks became a tipi-style structure for displaying these artworks.
With donated jewellery, we began to adorn the structure, stringing beads and random elements of dismantled necklaces. When we have more sticks, more poetry and art sanctuaries will be created with the aim of exhibiting them alongside the poems that inspired the works.
